Biography

Dr. Ali E. Yilmaz is the Director of the Electromagnetics and Acoustics Group at the Oden Institute. Dr. Yilmaz obtained his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2005 with a specialization in computational science and engineering. From 2005 to 2006, he was a post-doctoral research associate with the Center for Computational Electromagnetics at UIUC. In 2006, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is a Professor.

His current research interests include computational electromagnetics (especially fast frequency- and time-domain integral equation solvers), parallel algorithms, benchmarking, antenna and scattering analysis, microwave circuits, electromagnetic interference/compatibility, geo-electromagnetics, bioelectromagnetics, and cyber-physical security.
