Peter J. O'Donnell, Jr. (1924 - 2021) and Edith O'Donnell (1926 - 2020)
Peter O’Donnell was a visionary philanthropic partner whose longstanding support helped propel UT Austin’s leadership in high performance computing and computational science. Through a close partnership with J. Tinsley Oden and sustained philanthropic investments, O’Donnell and his wife Edith helped enable the creation and growth of the Oden Institute and UT’s rise in advanced computing. The Peter O’Donnell, Jr. Building is named in his honor and in remembrance of his role in creating an enduring research infrastructure.
