Rana Zakerzadeh

Dr. Rana Zakerzadeh obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Tehran Polytechnic, in 2009 and 2011 respectively. She then earned her Ph.D. in Computational Modeling & Simulation from University of Pittsburgh in August 2016. Her main areas of research are Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI), numerical analysis, and cardiovascular biomechanics.

She was the recipient of an ICES Postdoctoral Fellowship from 2016-18.

She performs her research at the ICES Center for Cardiovascular Simulation, working under the supervision of Professor Michael Sacks.
