Biography

In Stefan's work as a postdoctoral fellow at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, he is developing computational methods to tackle large-scale problems in science and engineering. In academic research, his principal interests lie in high performance computing (parallel algorithms and architecture) and the analysis and implementation of numerical methods for solving linear and nonlinear systems of PDEs. His current research focuses on computational methods in Bayesian inverse problems and uncertainty quantification with applications in predictive tsunami simulation, as well as applications in acoustic and electromagnetic wave propagation, and nonlinear fiber optics in particular.
