The Moncrief Faculty Fellowship Program, has the mission to recruit up to eight outstanding junior faculty (faculty at the assistant or associate professor rank) dedicated to research and academic work in computational engineering and sciences. Holders of these positions will be appointed jointly in one or more academic departments in the Cockrell School of Engineering, the College of Natural Sciences, or the Jackson School of Geosciences. These positions will be filled within the next four to five years.
Based on current projections, the SBES Faculty Fellowship Program will have sufficient funds to begin recruiting new faculty for the 2009-2010 academic year. Our recruiting strategy will focus on a few key areas in which we want to build our junior faculty with possible candidates identified through a world-wide search. This program will target the world's most outstanding young scholars that have an exceptional track record in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of advanced mathematical and computational techniques and target scientific and engineering problems.
