Extracting coarse grain sequence-dependent model parameters for rigid base and rigid base-pair models of DNA from molecular dynamics simulations of DNA
Tuesday, May 10, 2011

POB 4.304
Professor John H. Maddocks
The base pair sequence of DNA is generally believed to modulate its physical properties, for example stiffness and intrinsic curvature, in a
biologically significant way. I will describe both completed and ongoing work aimed toward quantifying these modulations at a coarse grain level
starting from simulations at the atomistic level.
